MAM

In February, Christy (Director & Founder of MAM) started working full time with  MAM. It’s amazing how one act of trust can clear the way for multiple opportunities.

We kicked off 2011 with our Take Heart Daughter conference in February. This was a weekend of worship, fellowship and testimony from a variety of non-profit leaders from around the area.  The weekend culminated with us reaching out and building relationships with women in the local adult entertainment industry.

A crazy spring and summer followed as we went to several music festivals, filmed a documentary and more recently, held a MAM Training Conference geared toward equipping women to start their own local out reaches.

CORNERSTONE FESTIVAL:

“This year I talked and prayed with more than 100 girls.  One inspiring moment was at Cornerstone, praying with a 16 year old girl who had just discovered she was 8 weeks pregnant. She felt she was experiencing rejection from everyone she knew:  friends, family and youth group.  As we prayed together, I watched God transform her heart to a place of full assurance that He loves her no matter what choices she has made and that His love for her is eternal.”

UNIFIED UNDERGROUND CONFERENCE:

“My most memorable moment with MAM was during Unified Underground in Baltimore.  Over 30 women filed into the prayer room at one time.  These women, from various walks of life, responded because they felt called to ministry or because they were struggling with self image issues.  I began a time of prayer in a circle of 12 women; half and hour later, I realized I had not spoken in at least 20 minutes as they had begun sharing their needs and praying for one another. As competitive, judgmental and insecure as we women typically are amongst one another, this group chose to defy that status quo, exposing the lies and replacing them with Truth.  Humbling and overwhelming is the moment when the need for a minister ceases because girls are encouraging one another!”

ANCHOR MISSION USA CONFERENCE:

January 20-22, we were able to go down to Y’bor City, FL to take part in the Anchor Mission USA Conference.  We worshipped, shared updates, prayed and learned with pastors and members from 16 church plants and missions of AMUSA. We were also able to share wth our AMUSA family the official premeier of the MAM Documentary: Through My Heart’s Eyes! This time together was a huge encouragement to our staff as we are traveling through a period of growth and refinement.

2012:

With your help, we are going to reach 5,000 girls throughout the USA as well as show the documentary in 24 churches, 6 schools and many festivals.  Along with hosting quarterly MAM leadership trainings we are also planning to take a team of girls to do an overseas outreach.

Yearly Project:  ”A Broken Testimony” will be a book of short testimonies of the women we work with.

It is such a beautiful thing to be a part of God’s plan to meet these girls in a place of desperation and brokeness, and to help them see that God loves them and values them.  The stories above are common stories.  We meet a girl who self harms, or is sexually active or is just sad and believes she is ugly.  We talk and pray with each girl and help connect each one with a someone in her hometown that can provide consistent, long-term help.

This past year we made a huge impact, and we wanted to say thank you to each of you! God has been very gracious and has shown over and over how much He cares for each girl we talk to. Without your prayers and financial partnership, we would not have been available to impact lives.  We are so grateful for the ways that God has grown and blessed this ministry.  Please continue to support us in whatever way you can.

(10am to 11:30pm Friday, 10am to 8:30pm) Saturday) We will have several training sessions, worship, roundtable discussion, and an outreach Friday night to women in Nashville’s adult entertainment industry. The cost is donation based. We want to make this opportunity available to everyone so we will not charge a fee for the training, only what you can personally offer towards furthering the ministry of MAM.
